Babies!! Their mom lets them romp around in our backyard while she goes off foraging. The young doe that is these two's mama is one of the offspring of a doe who always had twins. And it looks like a case of mother like daughter. Twins are so special and rare. It is amazing to see the trait passed down.
Actually, deer having twins is quite common and either as normal as or more normal than having just one.
About whitetail deer: Does bred when less than a year of age normally produce a single fawn, with 10 percent of them earing twins. Older does average almost two fawns - 67 percent have twins, 21 percent have single fawns and 12 percent have triplets. This means that about 140 fawns are born for every 100 does in the population.
Mule deer: 52 percent of pregnant mule deer does have multiple births.
It is more special to see both twins alive and doing well.

Who in the rainbow can draw the line where the violet tint ends and the orange tint begins? Distinctly we see the difference of the colors, but where exactly does the one first blendingly enter into the other? So with sanity and insanity.

Just don't let them romp through the garden! They like to sample the scenery.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
