This is the completed oil work for my Illustration oil final. The professor really wanted something with opposing elements in it... so what could be more opposite than a little girl and a dead rotting horse?? :D I tried to emphasize the opposing "elements" with the color scheme as well. The bright 'make you want to vomit' colors of the carousel verses the dark and dead colors of the horse.

Oh how I enjoy drawing dead things. ;)

wow.. you established the contrast very strongly! I especially like the contrast between her chub and the horse's gauntness

I like how she's kind of chubby too. It really contrasts the living vs. dead even more.

Its great...nice bright colors and a great evil looking horse. They child appears to have downs syndrom. Was that a part of the story? I t would make an interesting twist to the idea. I have worked with DS children in the past and I think the ideas that spring forth from this are incredible.
