Well I just returned from moving my big brother down to his new apartment/condo in Florida. My family and I road tripped it down there with all his stuff in tow, and then spent the week moving him in. The place was just as the builder left it, no blinds, no lights in the bedrooms, no knobs on any cupboards, wiring issues, bad paint, etc. BUT despite all the shoddy workmanship, my brother's new place is awesome and HUGE. 3 bed, 2 bath, massive living room, formal and casual dining areas, and a pretty nice kitchen. Pretty sweet for a first home I'd say.

Also, after spending a week away from my rats, and experiencing what it is like without the allergies, I have decided to give my girls up. Even with an allergy medicine regimen, I still am miserable. My inner ears itch, my throat itches, my lungs feel inflamed and breathing is harder than normal, and the allergy meds do nothing for the skin allergies I have to my girls. I know a lot of people live with animal allergies, but I don't have the money for the stronger drugs that would allow me to be comfortable. Also, unlike with pollen and dust allergies, pets can be given to a good home and the allergy can end. I'll just have to deal with loving ratties from a distance, just like I have to do with horses (for different reasons though).

The people who watches my girls while I was gone have an older son who visited an loved my girls, so I'm in the process of contacting him to see if he was serious about wanting them. We shall see. It would work really well if he did take them. He lives nearby and if I wanted to I could still visit them.
